Tarangire National Park

Nyikani Camp Tarangire

4/5
A lovely mobile camp deep in the heart of northern Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, Nyikani is a very special place. Acacia woodlands surround it, and guests are immersed in the inspiring wide-open spaces where wildebeest, elephants, zebra, and buffalo roam free, and those iconic ‘upside-down’ baobabs dot the landscape.
Nyikani Camp Tarangire has eight excellent guest tents with private en-suite bathrooms with flush toilet, double wash basins with running water, safari-style bucket shower and other essential amenities. Each tent has a private veranda with comfortable chairs facing the extraordinary vista and the creatures that cross it. The rooms are furnished for both practicality and comfort, with king-size beds, writing desk and digital safe.
The camp is centred around a pair of open-sided mess tents that house the dining room and a decidedly elegant lounge with stylish, brightly coloured chairs. The dining area is equally tasteful, and the meals served are sumptuous. There’s an outdoor campfire for evening chats and a nightcap or two.

Sangaiwe Tented Lodge

3/5
The simple but comfortable Sangaiwe Tented Lodge is located on a wooded hill just outside the park about 1 km away from the park’s Sangaiwe Gate. From the lodge you have beautiful views of the area and Lake Burunge. Wild animals sometimes walk through the not-fenced camp.
Sangaiwe Tented Lodge features 16 spacious safari tents on a wooden platform with a cooling thatched roof. All tents have an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, double bed or two single beds, carpet on the floor, desk with chair, a seating and wooden furniture. There are also 2 family cottages with 2 bedrooms.
In the common area are the reception, lounge, bar, and restaurant. There is also a spacious stone patio with beautiful views over the surrounding wilderness. The chef prepares delicious meals with fresh produce.

Nimali Tarangire

5/5
Nimali Tarangire is an exclusive luxury lodge in a private concession on the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park. The beautiful tents are spread along a riverbed, surrounded by acacia and baobab trees. The annual Great Migration passes through this area, earning it the reputation as having the highest concentration of game in Tanzania outside the Serengeti.
The lodge has only 6 tents, which ensures a personal service and a lot of privacy. All tents are modern and generously furnished and combine a modern design with typical African elements. Each has a central four-poster bed surrounded by seating and ample room to move, and a stone-floored en-suite bathroom with a large shower, twin basins, and flush toilet. Shaded verandas in front of the tents are perfect for admiring the passing animal traffic.
There is also a spacious lounge, library and wonderful restaurant overlooking the pool and several animal watering holes. In the evening, in the lounge or by the campfire, meet the other lodge guests to enjoy a sunset drink.
If you’re looking for a lodge with all the amenities of modern, luxurious accommodation in the middle of one of the most beautiful national parks in the country, you’ve come to the right place.
